Coastal lead generation · Prepared for Mike Zweber

10 to 15 quality leads a month.
Here's the plan.

You told Mason the goal: keep Merrick busy at the beach with a steady flow of good leads. This is that goal priced out, ready to switch on when you are. Beach first.

Built on your numbers

Everything below starts with what you told us.

We took your close rate and your job sizes and worked backward to the budget that hits your goal.

10–15
Quality leads per month. The number you gave Mason.
30%
Your close rate on estimates. All the math below uses it.
~$12K
A conservative average for a coastal repaint job.
~$3,600
What one qualified lead is worth to you. 30% of a $12K job.
That last number is why this works. A qualified lead costs roughly $75 to $125 to generate and is worth about $3,600 in expected revenue. So the question is how many you want per month.
Where the leads come from

Most of the budget goes to Google. Here's why.

Facebook leads are people we talked into it. Google leads were already looking for a painter. Both are in the plan, but the Google ones close faster and flake less, so they get most of the money.

Google Local Services

The "Google Guaranteed" listings at the top of search results. You only pay when a qualified lead actually calls, and Google verifies your license and insurance first. With 19 years and a clean CSLB record you'll clear it, and a lot of painters can't say that.

Google Search Ads

Text ads that catch the homeowner the moment they type "house painters Newport Beach." Costs more per lead, but these people are looking to hire this week, not someday.

Facebook & Instagram

Painting is visual, and this is where before-and-after shots shine. It reaches the homeowner who's been meaning to repaint for months, at the lowest cost per lead, and keeps the pipeline full.

What happens to each lead

From click to booked estimate, automatically.

We build and run all of it. Merrick just shows up to quote the job.

1
The ad finds the right homeownerCoastal zips, higher-value homes, people already searching.
2
They land on a page built to convertA simple page with your real work, your reviews, your license, and one button: book a free in-home color consultation that includes a picture of their own house in the new color. No coupons or discounts in the ads. That's not the customer you want, and it's not the brand you've built.
3
The lead is captured and tracked instantlyA dedicated tracking number and form feed a shared dashboard. Calls recorded, leads logged, nothing slips through.
4
Answered in secondsAn automated receptionist picks up when Merrick can't, even when he's up a ladder, qualifies the lead, and books the estimate. Whoever answers first usually wins the job. Every call is recorded so you can hear exactly how it sounds, and if you ever don't like it, we turn it off and route calls straight to Merrick's cell.
The budget

Pick the month you want to have.

Three ways to start. The middle row is your goal.

Ad budget / mo Leads / mo Jobs (your 30%) Est. revenue
Prove it$750 5–8 1–2 $12–24K
★ Your goal$1,500 10–15 3–4 $36–54K
Own the coast$2,500 18–25 5–7 $60–90K
One closed job covers the recommended budget eight times over. A single $12K repaint pays for the entire $1,500 month, with $10,500 left over. That's the advantage of big-ticket work.

These ranges use 2025 industry benchmark data for painting contractors (Google Local Services roughly $40–$75 per lead, search ads around $138, Meta $35–$80), blended across the three channels and sized to the cautious end. We report your actual cost per lead as we go, so within 60 days this table gets replaced by your real numbers.

We don't offer budgets under $750 a month. Below that, the ad platforms can't gather enough data to optimize in a market like Newport, and we'd rather tell you that now than learn it on your card.

The deal

You pay us after you profit. Not before.

We make more money the longer this works, so the risk sits with us and the structure stays simple.

The ad budget lives in your account, on your card. You fund it directly and see exactly where every dollar goes. We never touch your money.
You pay OakWind $0 until Merrick closes his first job from our leads. A lead only counts as ours if it came through our tracking number or the landing page. Your referrals and repeat customers never count toward anything we bill.
After the first close: $250/mo base + $60 per qualified lead. Angi and HomeAdvisor charge $85 to $175 for a painting lead, then sell that same lead to three or four other painters. Yours are $60 and only go to you.
Junk leads are free. Text or call us about any bad lead within 5 days and you don't pay for it.
Month-to-month, no contracts. If it's ever not working for you, you walk, and we hand over the ad accounts, the customer list, everything. It's all in your name from day one.

What to expect

What the first 60 days actually look like.

You'll get leads in month one. Month three is when it gets consistently good, because Google needs a few weeks of real data to learn which clicks turn into booked estimates. Better you hear that now than wonder about it in week five.

Weeks 1–2
We buildCoastal landing page, tracking numbers, dashboard, AI receptionist. We submit your license and insurance to Google for the Guaranteed badge.
Weeks 2–3
Ads go liveBeach zips first: Newport, Corona del Mar, Laguna, Huntington Harbour. First leads typically land within days of launch.
Weeks 3–8
We dial it inGoogle and Meta learn which homeowners turn into booked estimates. We cut what's expensive, feed what's working, and report your real cost per lead every week.
Month 3+
Steady statePredictable lead flow at or above the table. Once Merrick's booked solid, we talk about the mountain and the desert.
To switch it on

Four things from you, and we're live in about two weeks.

🛡️
License & insurance docs. Your CSLB number and insurance certificate, so Google can verify you for the Guaranteed badge.
💳
An ad account with your card on it. We set it up with you in 20 minutes.
📸
Before-and-after photos of your best work. Real photos of your jobs pull way better than stock. If you're short on them, we'll work with what you have.
The green light. Say go and we start building the same week.
Ready when you are

Let's fill that beach calendar.

Tell us which budget you want, or just tell Merrick. We'll handle the four items on one 20-minute call, and the first leads start landing a couple weeks later.

Mike, the honest version: Merrick is one of our closest friends, and that's why the deal is built the way it is. We don't make a dollar until he's closing jobs. If it works, we grow it together. If it doesn't, you're out a little ad spend and nothing else.
